Google and your website
1. Adding your website to the Google search engine
What is SEO? SEO stands for search engine optimization, which is the process of getting your website to show up naturally in search engine results.
There are various basics steps that need to be taken care of. Make sure you have added page titles, page descriptions and image descriptions throughout your website. Once your website is ready to go, we submit your domain to the Google Search Console URL Crawler (google robots). Google adds new sites to their index and updates existing ones every time they crawl the web. But we can speed up the process by submitting your website.
Google also provides a feature to submit your website’s sitemap. This is necessary so that the Google robots can scan your site structure and index it within the search engine. When publishing content without manually submitting an updated sitemap, Google needs days to crawl, but after submitting an updated sitemap, google bots visit your page within hours.
The Google Search Console (formerly known as Google Webmaster Tools) is a free service offered by Google that helps you monitor and maintain your site’s presence in Google Search results. Signing up can help you understand how Google views your site.
To join the Google Search Console you must have a Google account. We recommend that your company or organisation has a Business Google Account.
A business account also makes it easier to set up a Google Business Profile, which helps improve your business visibility and manage your online information.
Google will ask for verification to confirm that you are the owner of the website listed. There are 3 verification methods (meta tag, domain records and file upload). We can take care of this for you.
Once your website is indexed, SEO requires a lot of work to get it to the top in Google search results. But the most important thing is to have good relevant content on your site – content that users will find valuable and interesting.
2. What is Google Analytics?
Google Analytics is a web analytics service that provides statistics and basic analytical tools for search engine optimization (SEO) and marketing purposes. The service is part of the Google Marketing Platform and is available for free to anyone with a Google account.
How does Google Analytics work? Google Analytics acquires user data from each website visitor through the use of page tags. A JavaScript page tag is inserted into the code of each page. This tag runs in the web browser of each visitor, collecting data and sending it to one of Google’s data collection servers. Google Analytics can then generate customizable reports to track and visualize data.
The service is free, easy to use and beginner friendly. Google Analytics offers a variety of metrics and customizable dimensions. Many different types of useful insights can be captured using this platform. Google Analytics also contains many other tools, such as data visualization, monitoring, reporting, predictive analysis, etc.
